曲紹介 - Max Romeo / War in a Babylon -

今日は先日ご紹介したレコードの中からMax Romeo / War In a Babylonの歌詞をご紹介します。

ジャマイカは1970年代、2大政党（JLPとPNP）の争いが非常に激しく、お互いがお互いを攻撃し、まさに文字通りの血で血を洗う時代と言われていました。
このWar In a Babylonは1976年にリリースされ、この頃の暴力的な政治背景について歌っており、アルバムのタイトルにもなっています。
ちなみに、Bob Marleyがジャマイカでこの2大政党のリーダー（マイケル マンレー（PNP）とエドワード シアガ（JLP）)の二人をステージに立たせ握手をさせたことで知られる有名なコンサート"One Love Peace Concert"はこの後、1978年のことでした。
