その意味は、[私の生まれた土地＝ジャマイカ] 。この曲は1978年にフェスティバルソングとしてジャマイカ独立記念イベントで披露されました（ジャマイカは1964年8月6日にそれまで支配していたイギリスから独立）。
Eric Donaldsonは他にもCherry Oh BabyやSweet Jamaicaがフェスティバルソングとして有名です。また、今も独立記念イベントではこれらの曲が歌われており、ジャマイカ人の心の歌でもあります。
